We learned this year that REG, the operator of the existing High Pow Wind Farm, has purchased Your Energy's interest in the Little Waver project. We can only conclude from this that the application, when it does materialise, will take the form of an extension to High Pow which occupies land adjacent to the Little Waver site. No formal plans have yet come forward for further wind energy development at this location. It wouldn't be the first time, of course, if an application were suddenly to appear over the festive season! We will continue to monitor the situation and will update this website as soon as we become aware of any change in the situation.
In the meantime, it is true to say that we have enjoyed a fair level of success this year and that our councillors have been persuaded to refuse a number of inappropriate applications for single turbines in the area - not least among them the Lane Head turbine at Boltongate. Inevitably some of these decisions have now been taken to appeal by the developers and applicants' agents.
